ICBC makes data on crashes, traffic tickets, auto crime, driver and vehicle licensing and insurance policies available to everyone via Tableau Public. The data sets are current and you can manipulate them yourself and then download the result.
Crash Data
Crash information can be filtered for the details of an individual crash, including the street, crash configuration (for example, rear end, head on or side impact) and contributing factors.
This information can be used to confirm a neighbourhood collision problem and use it to convince authorities to respond.
Crash Maps by Region
Almost half of the crashes in our province happen at intersections. The maps show crashes at intersections and show mid block collisions as a total between intersections.
These maps exclude crashes in parking lots and involving parked vehicles.
Special interest crash maps involving vulnerable road users:
Traffic Tickets: What is Being Written and Where
Are the traffic enforcement efforts in your community being directed toward the collision problems that exist? Filter contravention information to find out.
Traffic tickets are shown divided into 14 related categories and include Criminal Code driving violations as well.
Auto Crime
Totals of stolen vehicles, vehicle break-ins and vandalism to vehicles by area are shown in Auto Crime information. This is not open to manipulation.
These statistics only include incidents that were reported to ICBC as part of a claim.
Vehicle Policies
Are you interested in the types of vehicles being operated in our province or your community? In addition to passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, motor homes and trailers the number of hybrid and electric vehicles is also shown.
