Long story short, my brother made a mistake and now my mother's car is in vehicle impound. He went out last night with some of his roommates, had a drink or 2 and ended up doing something incredibly stupid.
Question: There is a school near where I live, with a 30 km/h school zone. Driving one way past the school you encounter the School Zone sign, but after you pass the school, there is no corresponding sign showing the speed increase to 50 km/h.
I am renting an RV to vacation in Alberta and BC with 2 kids: 26 kg and 16kg. I have received mixed messages and am unclear if they require child/booster seats in the RV. Please advise me.
I was on a motorcycle trip a few years ago with a friend , and was riding about 10 km/h faster on a two lane highway and cars were still pushing me to go faster. There was a solid line so no passing as well there were also curves to consider. The shoulder was loose gravel and for me to pull over each time the cars formed a pack behind me I would slow down and pull off to let them go.
The provincial driving guide, Learn to Drive Smart, in the Yellow Lines section, cites:
Broken line -- passing is allowed when safe
Single yellow line -- vehicles travelling in either direction may pass when it is safe

My mother is a rather large woman who has gotten larger due to medical causes...she also has a phobia of being confined as a result of a seatbelt not releasing and being trapped for quite a bit of time...as a result it is very difficult to get her to agree to put on a seatbelt when we take her to various doctors appointments...
Your recent bicycle column stirred me to ask a question. I was in Kelowna, traveling north on Harvey Ave, and wanting to turn right into the strip mall where Jysk and the new Big and Tall are located (among many others). I was in the HOV lane, and had to wait while 3 pedestrians on the sidewalk slowly crossed in front of my path. When they were clear, I made my turn, then to be hurled a number of expletives from a cyclist that was intending to pass me on the right but had to stop quickly.
I had the pleasure of visiting British Columbia in late January to visit my son who was on a school exchange in Northern BC.
As I have been a Road safety consultant and designer of road safety campaigns I was wondering if there are any statistics available on Tourist Accidents in the BC area and are there resources available to address this at all as I would be interested in gathering this information.
