Question: I was wondering about drinking in a motor home and its legality. I understand that definition of motor home from the Motor Vehicle Act. I further understand that a person must not drive or otherwise exercise control over the operation of a motor vehicle.

We've had some interesting weather in southwestern British Columbia over the last few days! It's included some less than ideal driving conditions due to ice, snow and rain, often in combination. A common bit of advice heard in the media is "if you don't have to travel, stay home!

The more that I learn about how to construct one of BC's highways, the more I see how complicated that job really is. One would think that you decide where to go, level off a pathway, build a few bridges, throw down some pavement, put up a few signs and we're good to go. I don't know if a person could find a better way to understate the task than my last sentence!

Why is it that people can still drive our streets in vehicles puking out pollution? Isn't there laws against this? If so please contact the owner of BC plate [deleted] and ask to get the thing repaired. Not fair to be trapped behind one of these and have to breathe in the stench!

I can't find it anywhere... How far can, say a 2x4, stick out of a trailer before it needs a flag? (Alberta used to be 5 feet...)

Carpooling makes sense, no doubt about it. It cuts down on emissions, saves commuting costs, reduces congestion on our highways and helps us feel good for being part of the solution rather than part of the problem. For the most part, as far as the laws are concerned, true carpooling is relatively unregulated too.

I just wanted to check - is it legal to have adult passengers ride in the back/box of a pickup truck while driving in BC, and are there any restrictions, i.e. Highways etc?

Brian Alexander was stopped for excessive speeding in Kamloops, B.C. He was issued a traffic ticket for excessive speed and police attempted to impound his vehicle for seven days as required by the Motor Vehicle Act. Mr. Alexander responded that he had no intention of giving up his vehicle, sat inside it and refused to get out when required to do so by the officer.

We are selling one of our cars this spring, actually its a westfalia van. Right now it's parked in our driveway with For Sale signs up in the windows. I understand that it can't be parked on any highway (streets) and I need the owners permission to park it anywhere else (I have permission to park it in the parking lot at work beside a busy street).

QUESTION: What amount of noise is allowed to come from a motorcycle? Does the same limit apply to cars?
