Hi, I recently received a bylaw parking ticket from the city of Victoria. In the disclosure request, one of the pictures I received shows the commissionaires scooter parked in violation of a yellow line. I looked in the bylaw but did not see specific exemption, similar to what emergency vehicle have in the motor vehicle act, allowing the commissionaires to park in violation of the bylaw. Have you heard of this before?
An Osoyoos resident has asked about parking in the downtown area. There is angle parking on both sides of the main street, and the street is marked with a double solid yellow line down the center. He is concerned about vehicles crossing the oncoming lane to park on the left side of the street.

Over the course of my service in traffic law enforcement I saw many things that made me shake my head. Examples include a pickup truck that had a rope strung through the vent windows and tied to the windshield wipers so that they could be operated by the passenger, another pickup with black plastic tape stuck over the brake warning light so that the brightness would not bother the driver at night and a car had no working lights on the rear because ICBC had not arranged for collision repairs yet.
I'm sure that you have heard by now that the BC government has announced penalty points to go with a violation ticket for talking on a handheld device while driving. This new penalty, which also covers infractions like watching a DVD, programming a phone’s GPS, and operating hand-held audio players, is being combined with the $167 fine already in place and is now consistent with the three points and $167 fine currently given to drivers for texting.

How many times will the courts allow a court date to be postponed? I am fighting an alleged excessive speeding ticket.
On October 1, 2014 the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure announced new winter tire rules for British Columbia. The changes are part of the Rural Highway Safety and Speed Review conducted by the Ministry about one year ago when BC residents were asked to express their opinion. From the information provided to me, it appears that the only thing that has changed is the signage beside the highway and the chain option for passenger vehicles.
I was given a u-turn ticket under section 168 (b) (iv), on 104 avenue and 158 street in Surrey BC. You can get an idea of what this intersection looks like using google maps:
Question: I am 32 year old with a driving experience of more than 10 years from India. Currently I am a Learners license holder for class 5. I have been told by one of the driving schools that I need to display the 'L' sign on my car while I drive with a supervisor.
